I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

Happy National Ice Cream Month! In 1984, President Ronald Reagan declared July National Ice Cream Month in recognition of the 90% of Americans who say they love ice cream. In fact, according to the International Dairy Foods Association, 9% of the milk produced in this country goes towards ice cream production. The ice cream industry generates about $21 billion in sales each year!

Do you have a favorite flavor? The US definitely does--vanilla. The top 5: vanilla, chocolate, cookies 'n cream, strawberry and mint chocolate chip.

Saturday, July 17 is National Ice Cream Day, so grab some friends and indulge in a cone at one of the many local custard stands.
