Public internet access guidelines
These guidelines go into effect on August 1, 2011
To access the internet at FDLPL:
If a person’s permanent residence is anywhere in Wisconsin:
• They must have or get a Fond du Lac Public Library card to access the internet
• They can use a Winnefox Library System card while FDLPL remains a member of that system
If a person’s permanent residence is anywhere outside Wisconsin:
• They must present an unexpired photo ID to receive a guest pass
• A guest pass is for a one-time use only
• If a non-Wisconsin resident would like to access the internet for more than one day, that person can request a limited-use FDLPL card from the Circulation Dept.
If a patron has an FDLPL card, but does not have it with them:
• If they present an unexpired photo ID, library staff will sign them onto the internet remotely
• Library staff will not provide the patron card number
If the patron has an FDLPL card but cannot present an unexpired photo ID:
• Library staff will not provide their card number nor sign them in
Library staff will look up a patron’s Personal Identification Number:
• If the person can present an unexpired photo ID
Library staff will not look up a patron’s PIN:
• If the person cannot present an unexpired photo ID
