St. Nicholas sale at the BookCellar

The BookCellar is celebrating St. Nicholas Day with a two-day half-off sale. On Saturday, December 3, and Monday, December 5, books, movies, CDs and more are all half off (with exception of collectors’ materials and the newest best sellers). Hardcover books and CDs will be 50 cents; kids’ books and paperbacks just 25 cents.

The sale will unveil two new features: a BookCellar frequent buyer card and gift certificates. The punch card rewards buyers with a free book after spending $15. Also, just in time for Christmas, the BookCellar will sell $5 gift certificates – a perfect gift for the hard-to-shop for neighbor, family member and friend.

St. Nicholas Day is December 6; it’s a European tradition for children to leave their shoes outside their bedroom doors overnight. Good children will find treats or coins (or BookCellar gift certificates) in their shoes, while naughty kids will find lumps of coal.

The BookCellar is the library’s used books-and-more store located in the lower level. Hours: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 7 p.m. Mondays.
