Documentary about Freeganism April 19

On the surface, it’s a movie about Freeganism – getting your groceries from Dumptster diving – but on a deeper level, DIVE! is about wastefulness, hunger and saving the planet.

The library will show the award-winning documentary, DIVE! Living Off America’s Waste, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19. The screening is in honor of Earth Day, April 22.

DIVE! is an entertaining 50-minute film that follows filmmaker Jeremy Seifert and friends as they Dumpster dive at Los Angeles supermarkets. They salvage thousands of dollars worth of food and in the process take a sharp look at our country’s consumerism and wastefulness. Seifert extends the movie’s reach to offer practical solutions to reduce waste at home.

The screening is free and open to the public. No registration required.
