Everyday Tech explores crafting apps, sites July 12

Technology is everywhere, all the time. It can seem overwhelming. The Fond du Lac Public Library, with help from its friends, is offering help through a monthly series – Everyday Tech – at 1 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month in the library’s Idea Studio. The programs are free; no registration required.

Small and interesting: History of Peebles Jul 19

It might be small, but Peebles – Fond du Lac’s neighbor to the northeast – has played an integral role in the history of Fond du Lac County. The fascinating story of the rise of Peebles will be presented at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The History at Home programs are free; no registration is required.

Explore basil at Jul 17 Flavors of the World

For many a fan, the taste of summer is basil. Used around the world, basil delivers a fresh, green and sunny flavor. The Fond du Lac Public Library’s monthly Flavors of the World program will focus on basil at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, in the Idea Studio. The program is free and open to adults and teens 13 and older. Registration is required and begins at 9:30 a.m.

Are you fighting a never-ending battle with garden and lawn pests? Uncomfortable with using harmful chemicals? Loretta Ortiz-Ribbing, Ph.D., will offer What Bugs You? at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The program is free; no registration required.

'Birds of a Feather' exhibit in June

The walls of Fond du Lac Public Library’s Langdon Divers Gallery will flutter to life with Birds of a Feather, a themed exhibit, June 6 to July 5. The show, organized by gallery curator Mel Kolstad, is the result of a public call to art.

Yarn Crafters meet Jun 14, 28

The drop-in Yarn Crafters group will meet at 6 p.m. Thursdays June 14 and June 28 at the Fond du Lac Public Library.

Hand-sewers’ group meets Jun 27

The Fond du Lac Public Library hosts a monthly casual gathering of people interested in hand-sewing projects, From Our Hands. The group will meet from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, and will meet every fourth Wednesday of the month at the same time. Sewers of all skill levels are invited. Free. No registration.

Memory Café celebrates Dairy Month Jun 28

Persons with early to mid-stage Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia, their caregivers and family members are invited to monthly Alzheimer’s Association Memory Cafés held at 1 p.m. the fourth Thursday of the month at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The themed programs are free; no registration required.
