Our first "Mondays on the Moon" performance is quickly approaching, June 25 at 2:30 p.m. and we are looking forward to seeing those peppy Pomeranians in action! Free tickets will be available at the Children's Desk on Tuesday, June 19 at 9 a.m.. We hope to see you all there!

Lego Club is also quickly approaching, June 26 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.. Many children seem to be jazzed about the prospect of coming in and building architectural structures out of lego blocks. To be honest, we're jazzed too! Registration for the first Lego Club meeting begins Wednesday, June 20 at 9 a.m.

Storytimes and Paws to Read start up again the last week of June. For further information on dates and times, please see the Kid's Calendar.

The first of our contests finished up on Saturday, June 9. We featured a coffee can filled with Glow-in-the-Dark stars and aliens. Kids were asked to guess the correct number of intergalactic objects inside. Despite their lack-luster luminescence, the contest was widely popular among kids of all ages. The winner, Grace Quast, age 10, guessed the correct number right on the nose! There were 317 total Glow-in-the-Dark objects inside the coffee can. Runner-up, Alyssa Schuh, age 11, was not far off with a guess of 315. So close! Grace went home with the Spy Gear Night Goggles and the Glow-in-the-Dark Constellations: A Field Guide for Young Stargazers book. Alyssa went home with the Spiderwick Chronicles series consolation prize. Congratulations girls! And thanks to everyone for participating. Don't forget to come into the Children's Room this week to participate in the next activity: vote for your favorite bedtime story.
