Experience Alaska on Aug 22

Veteran travelers Valerie and Wayne Graczyk will share their photos, memories and stories from a recent seven-day trip at Experience Alaska, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The program is free. No registration required.

The couple guided a group on cruise through the state’s breathtaking Inside Passage, with stops at the ports of Ketchikan, Icy Straight Point/Glacier Bay National Park, Juneau, Skagway, Hubbard Glacier, Seward and Anchorage. The trip concluded with a visit to Denali National Park, a 6-million-acre natural wonderland teeming with wildlife. The travelers saw grizzly bears, caribou herds, moose and sheep.

The Graczyks will include information about the history of the 49th state, including its purchase from the Russians, the gold rush, salmon fishing and the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.

The couple, owners of the local business Someday Travel, plans another travelogue at the library, Experience Tuscany, on October 24.
