Heartwarming story set in Door County is good reading for the season

Here’s a book for people who like Debbie Macomber and Jennifer Chiaverini--The Second Sister by Marie Bostwick. Set in fictional Nilson’s Bay in Door County, main character Lucy always felt like the second sister because her older sister Alice was bright and talented and her father’s favorite. When the sisters were in their teens, a near-drowning accident left Alice with a mental disability, and Lucy felt partially responsible. Lucy left Nilson’s Bay and now has a high powered job in politics.

Joan Rivers - you either loved her or hated her

No one knew comedienne Joan Rivers better than her daughter Melissa. In her book, The Book of Joan: Tales of Mirth, Mischief, and Manipulation, Melissa Rivers shares stories and life lessons from her life shared with her mother and father, Edgar Alfred Rosenberg. Most people either loved or hated Joan, and, if you thought she said some outrageous things to her audiences as a comedian, you won't believe what she said and did in private. Not a fan? You may change your mind about her as the book reveals a completely other side to this comedic icon.
