To help celebrate National Library Week, the Friends of the Fond du Lac Public Library will be selling I Bark for Books T-shirts sporting the smiling face of Browser, the library’s furry mascot. The T-shirts will be sold for $8 in the library’s lobby from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. April 9 through April 13.
When the community was asked to contribute to the new library branch, FDLPL Express, they came out in force. More than $55,000 was raised in just over six months.
Time to celebrate El día de los niños (Children’s Day)/El día de los libros (Book Day). The bilingual fun will take place in the Children's Room at the library on Saturday, April 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

As a fan of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, I was pretty excited to see the movie adaptation. After watching the series of trailers released, I was pretty sure they had done a good job. I have a history of not loving movie adaptations, as I think they often lack the depth of books. While The Hunger Games movie does change some details, remove certain scenes and characters, and add in a few things, overall I thought it a very skilled adaptation of a book that hit a chord with a lot of people.
