Sign up for Feb 16 double Crafternoon

It’s easy to save money on glam accessories if you use the skills you learn in the Saturday, February 16, Crafternoon program at the Fond du Lac Public Library.

Project Upcycled Runway will teach crafters how to weave a colorful bracelet from magazine pages and create a fluffy flower pin from book pages. The program, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., is open to adults and children in middle school or older. All supplies provided. Space is limited; sign up at the Calendar or by calling the Help Desk at (920) 322-3929.

Crafternoon is a free program every third Saturday with a different make-and-take project each month. It was inspired by a similar program at the New York Public Library that’s run by Maura Madden, who wrote, “Crafternoon: A Guide to Getting Artsy and Crafty with Your Friends All Year Long.”

Upcoming projects:

March 16: Scrabble Tile Coasters. Make durable and wordy coasters using old Scrabble tiles. Sign-up begins March 2.

April 20: Storybook Birdhouses. Using a wooden birdhouse, old children’s books and lots of glue, create a one-of-a-kind indoor decoration. Sign-up begins April 6.
