Upcycled Glam contest coming in fall

Fond du Lac Public Library is sponsoring a fun contest for kids - Upcycled Glam - that starts this September.

Students in middle and high school in Fond du Lac County will be eligible to enter by creating a special-occasion outfit (prom, Easter, graduation, etc.) that uses a combination of upcycled clothing (thrift store, hand-me-down, found) and upcycled pages from books or magazines. Entries will be put on display in the library gallery in May 2014, and the designs will be shared on the library's website, Facebook and Twitter accounts and with the local media.

The contest will finish in April 2014.

A grand prize of a new latest-edition iPad will be awarded to the best outfit created from upcycled materials.
