Friends' Annual Meeting features Windhover update
Exactly what’s up at the Windhover? Find out at the Friends of the Fond du Lac Library’s annual meeting 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16. The public is invited to listen to a presentation by Windhover Center for the Arts Executive Director Kevin Miller. He’ll provide an update on the center’s multi-million dollar expansion and how the development will impact downtown as it aims to transform the institution into a major regional arts destination. The program is free and open to the public. No registration. Refreshments will be served.
Miller has been executive director of the Fond du Lac Arts Council, which owns and operates Windhover, since 2007. He’s a former Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership board member and chair of its Economic Restructuring Committee, which helped create the blueprint for the downtown Arts and Entertainment District. Through his work with the partnership, Miller was named Wisconsin Main Street’s Volunteer of the Year for 2011.
The Friends of the Fond du Lac Library is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and encouraging use of library services, assisting with volunteer services and special events, providing informative programs for the community and raising money to benefit library programming.
The Friends meeting is being held in celebration of National Library Week, April 14-20, a decades-old observance sponsored by the American Library Association to highlight the value of libraries, librarians and library workers.
