Emerging Artists showcased in May exhibit

Visitors to the Langdon Divers Gallery at the Fond du Lac Public Library in May will get to see something special: artwork by new and emerging artists.

The exhibit showcases work by area artists, ages 10 to 87, whose work never has been shown before. The exhibit includes photography, painting, ceramics, pencil drawing and wood carving. The artists will be on hand at a public reception in the gallery from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 9. Refreshments will be served.

The artists are: Brianna Biermann (age 10), Rick Chaltry, Laura Debbink, Misty Jimenez, Jenny Margelofsky, Kelley Mortier, Joe Possehl, Thomas Ramirez (age 87), Johanna Schneider, Mary Schneider, Carol Waranius and Morgan Weber.

The exhibit is presented by Fond du Lac Visual Arts, which is curator of the library’s gallery. Fond du Lac Visual Arts was formed in 2010 by local professional artists and is devoted to art awareness and education, development and enhancement of artists’ skills and strengthening connections between art and commerce in the Fond du Lac area.
