The walls of Fond du Lac Public Library’s Langdon Divers Gallery will flutter to life with Birds of a Feather, a themed exhibit, June 6 to July 5. The show, organized by gallery curator Mel Kolstad, is the result of a public call to art.

Persons with early to mid-stage Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia, their caregivers and family members are invited to monthly Alzheimer’s Association Memory Cafés held at 1 p.m. the fourth Thursday of the month at the Fond du Lac Public Library. Fond du Lac Public Library’s monthly Flavors of the World program will focus on coriander and cilantro at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, in the Idea Studio. In a fitting tribute to June Dairy Month, the Fond du Lac Public Library’s History at Home series will feature For the Love of Cheeses at 2 p.m. and repeated at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 21. Complementing the fascinating history will be plenty of tasty artisan cheese samples. The programs are free; no registration required.

Summer starts big at Idea Studio in June

Summer kicks off in a big way at the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Idea Studio makerspace. Along with extended summer hours and a lively program calendar, visitors will be able to meet Stephanie Harvey, the studio’s new maker in residence, as she starts her office hours and program schedule. The Idea Studio is permanent do-it-yourself zone in the library’s lower level with equipment to use for free and DIY programming for adults and teens age 13 and older.
