Get Ready to Dig Into . . . summer reading fun for kids!

The Children's Room invites children ages 12 and younger to participate in the kids' summer reading program. Win prizes, attend fun events and have a blast reading in the summer. Registration starts June 10 on our website or just stop in and see us.

(Pssst: Coming to Walleye Weekend? Stop in at the Teen Art Village, where you can sign up early. The Art Village will be located near Quarry Quest.)

Once you register, you'll receive your first reading card. Fill it up, bring it back and get your first prize! Keep going until you complete four cards and receive your grand prize.

Stop in each week for a different activity around the Children's Room for a chance to win even more prizes.

Here's a peek at what we're diggin' into this summer; programs start the week of June 10. Check our Calendar for details:

Mighty Mighty Mondays – 1 pm and repeated at 2:30 pm. Free tickets are required and are available the Tuesday before each show at the Children's Desk.
We're bringing back those peppy Pomeranians in the Soda Pup Show, musicians you can dance to and performers who will amaze and entertain you! With 16 different show times, we hope to see you there.

Dig Into . . . Tuesdays at 4 pm for children ages 6-12. Registration required.
Can you dig it? A special program that highlights different, interesting things to explore – pick your favorite topic. We've got cave painting, gardening, crafting, learning about rocks and geodes, crime scene investigation with the Fond du Lac Police Dept. and different quick-fire speed challenges.

Storytimes for all ages
With four morning Storytimes for toddlers and preschoolers, an afternoon Storytime at FDLPL Express for all ages and an all-ages evening Storytime, there are many opportunities for children and families to enjoy stories, songs and fun this summer.

Midweek Matinee – Wednesdays @ 10 am
Movies at the library? Absolutely! Grab your comfy blankets, sit on the floor and watch a popular (G or PG) movie.

Remember, children who participate in summer reading maintain or even gain academic skills, build vocabulary and became more fluent readers. The kids' program, and its companions, the teen and adult programs, are free and open to everyone.

We look forward to seeing you this summer!
