Those beans – and our decisions made at the grocery store – also exert great power on the farmers and communities that supply them. “Meet Your Coffee Farmer” will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Monday, February 26, at the Fond du Lac Public Library, hosted by Just Fare Market. Instant Pot Users' Group Feb 7

Instant Pot fever is sweeping the nation. The kitchen appliance that’s a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, yogurt maker, steamer, warmer and sauté pan all in one can be a bit intimidating, though, especially to new users. An Instant Pot Users’ Group is planned for 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, in the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Idea Studio Demonstration Kitchen.

Celebrating the mighty sturgeon, Chapter 52 Bookstore will offer a Go Fish Sale on Saturday, February 10. Pick a slip out of the fishbowl to land your deal of the day. Will it be half off your total sale? A $2 coupon? Buy one, get one on fiction books? Go fish! The bookstore, located next door to the Fond du Lac Public Library at 52 Sheboygan St., is open Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Flavors of the World: Cinnamon moved to Feb 27

Due to inclement weather, the Flavors of the World: Cinnamon has been moved back one week to 6 p.m. Tue Feb 27 in the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Idea Studio. The program will be presented by Nathan Villa, manager of The Spice House in Milwaukee.

Memory Café finds plenty to celebrate Feb 22

Persons with early to mid-stage Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia, their caregivers and family members are invited to monthly Alzheimer’s Association Memory Cafés held at 1 p.m. the fourth Thursday of the month at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The programs are free; no registration required. Each month features a new theme:

Hand-paint rustic sign Feb 17

Learn how to transfer a homey slogan and hand-paint a rustic wooden sign at the 10 a.m. Saturday, February 17, Craftermorning program at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The program is free and open to adults and teens age 13 and older. Registration is required and begins at 9:30 a.m.

Hand-sewers’ group meets Feb 28

The Fond du Lac Public Library hosts a monthly casual gathering of people interested in hand-sewing projects, From Our Hands. The group will meet from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, and will meet every fourth Wednesday of the month at the same time. Sewers of all skill levels are invited. Free. No registration.

Yarn Crafters meet Feb 8, 22

The drop-in Yarn Crafters group will meet at 6 p.m. Thursdays February 8 and February 22 at the Fond du Lac Public Library.
