Call to artists for 'A Dog's Life'
Area artists are invited to submit pieces for a themed exhibit, “A Dog’s Life,” at the Fond du Lac Public Library in October.
The exhibit will be held in conjunction with the library’s month-long Fond du Lac Reads celebration of the book, “Thunder Dog: The True Story of a Blind Man, His Guide Dog, and the Triumph of Trust at Ground Zero.” Written by Michael Hingson, who was born blind, the memoir tells the remarkable story of Hingson’s escape from World Trade Center’s north tower with the help of his guide dog, Roselle. Events will be held at the library throughout October to celebrate the themes in the book, which include the astounding capabilities of guide and companion animals.
Artwork in all mediums will be accepted. Artists are invited to submit the following:
- Artist bio
- Artist statement (written description of the work)
- Two to three photographs (or JPEGs if emailed)
- Self-addressed-stamped envelope for return of photos if artwork is not accepted into the exhibit
This information must be sent by email to Susan Fiebig, [email protected], or mailed to the library at 32 Sheboygan St., Fond du Lac WI 54935, Attn: Gallery. Deadline is September 22.
