Plant Swap & Sale Sept 14

The Fond du Lac County Master Gardeners and the Fond du Lac Public Library are teaming up to host a Plant Swap and Sale from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, September 14, at the downtown library.

People are encouraged to bring any thinned-out perennials and bulbs from their gardens, as well as fancy (non-plastic) flower pots and even house plants to swap for others. Gardeners aren’t required to bring something to swap: members of the Master Gardeners group also will have plants available to buy.

Swappers are encouraged to note the plant’s name and the color when blooming. If possible, bring a photo of the plant for identification. Master Gardeners say the plants that transplant well this time of year include astilbe, Asiatic lily, bearded iris, bleeding heart, Japanese iris, oriental lily, Siberian iris, veronica and peony.

Proceeds of the event will benefit library programming.
