Free Sunday Movie Matinees

Kids restless? Need to get out of the house? Take in a free family movie at the Fond du Lac Public Library with the new Sunday Matinees program every third Sunday. The program starts off with I’ll Be Home For Christmas at 1 p.m. Sunday, November 17.

The PG-rated film stars Jonathan Taylor Thomas, who plays a college student having a very hard time making his way home in time for Christmas. Along the way, he learns a lot about himself and the true meaning of the holiday.

Sunday Matinees include a popcorn buffet and drinks. The movie is free and open to the public. No registration required. Children ages 5 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

The 1 p.m. December 15 movie will be 2009 animated retelling of the Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol, starring Jim Carrey, Colin Firth and Gary Oldman. It tells the tale of a Scrooge, a Victorian-era miser, who is taken on a journey of self-redemption, courtesy of mysterious Christmas Eve visitors. It also is rated PG.

Sunday Movie Matinees are hosted by the Solutions Center.
