MPTC IT Club teaching tech classes

The Moraine Park Technical College IT Club is offering a series of four classes – Technology Sampling – free to the public at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The classes, taught by members of the club, will offer user-friendly information for home and small business computer users who wish to improve their knowledge and skills and to enhance their understanding of their devices’ capabilities.

The series will take place at 10 a.m. on consecutive Saturdays in March. Attendance is drop-in; no registration is required, and attendees don’t have to attend all four classes. Space is limited; seating is first-come, first-served. The lineup:

  • March 1: iPads. Designed for new iPad owners who want to learn how to use their devices efficiently, learn basic functions and applications. Attendees should bring their devices
  • March 8: PC Online Security. What you don't know about PC security can hurt you. Learn how to reduce risk and protect personal and business data.
  • March 15: PC Maintenance. Learn how to properly install, modify, configure and upgrade computer software. Learn preventative maintenance and system optimization.
  • March 22: Windows 8/8.1. Upgrading to Windows 8? Learn the basics on what’s different and what has stayed the same.
