'Composting at Home' May 21

The Fond du Lac Public Library will offer a free class, Composting at Home at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 21. The class is free and open to the public. No registration necessary.

David Demezas, of UW-FDL, will talk about how to compost with kitchen scraps, yard waste and trimmings. He’ll discuss what can and cannot be used as compost and offer suggestions on how to set up composting areas or make composting bins.

Demezas, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of Biology, teaching general biology, microbiology and botany. He is an active gardener and has composted at home for many years. His research interests are in mechanisms of invasive plant species, plant-microbe interactions and microbiology of dairy anaerobic digesters.
