Zentangle Crafternoon sign-up starts June 7

Sign-up starts Saturday, June 7, for the June 21 Zentangle Coaster/Bookmark Crafternoon class at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The class meets from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Space is limited, and registration is required beginning at 9 a.m. June 7 at the Calendar or by calling the Help Desk at (920) 322-3929.

Zentangle is an easy, anyone-can-do-it method of creating beautiful images by drawing patterns using simple black ink and white paper. All supplies will be provided. The class is open to adults and teens in middle school or older.

Crafternoon takes place every third Saturday of the month with a different make-and-take project. It was inspired by a similar program at the New York Public Library that’s run by Maura Madden, who wrote, Crafternoon: A Guide to Getting Artsy and Crafty with Your Friends All Year Long.

Other projects coming up (all Crafternoon registrations open at 9 a.m. 14 days in advance of the class):

  • July 19: Solar Light Centerpiece
  • August 16: Origami Goldfish in a Bowl
  • September 20: Jeans Pocket Purse (Crafters need to bring one pair of old jeans with back pockets. The larger the better.)
  • October 18: Kilobyte Earrings
  • November 15: Rolled-Paper Picture Frame
  • December 6: Dixie Cup Garland (crafters need to bring a string of twinkle lights)
