Sign-up starts Sept. 6 for Jeans Pocket Purse
Sign-up starts Saturday, September 6, for the September 20 Jeans Pocket Purse Crafternoon class at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The class meets from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Crafters must bring one pair of old jeans – the larger the better – with two back pockets; they’re also encouraged to bring fabric scissors from home. Crafters will do some creative cutting and easy hand-stitching to create a cute purse of their own design. All other supplies, including embellishments, will be provided.
Crafternoon is open to adults and teens in middle school and older. Space is limited, and registration is required beginning at 9 a.m. September 6 at the Calendar or by calling the Help Desk at (920) 322-3929.
Crafternoon takes place every third Saturday of the month with a different make-and-take project. It was inspired by a similar program at the New York Public Library that’s run by Maura Madden, who wrote, Crafternoon: A Guide to Getting Artsy and Crafty with Your Friends All Year Long.
Other projects coming up (all Crafternoon registrations open at 9 a.m. 14 days in advance of the classes):
- October 18: Kilobyte Earrings
- November 15: Rolled-Paper Picture Frame
- December 6: Dixie Cup Garland (crafters need to bring a string of twinkle lights)
