Techno-fashion at Oct 18 Crafternoon

Tecchies: Wear your geek status with pride. Come to the Crafternoon program at the Fond du Lac Public Library 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. October 18 and use upcycled computer resistors and capacitors to make Kilobyte Earrings.

Crafters are asked to bring needle-nose pliers from home; all other materials will be provided. For adults and teens in middle school and older. Registration is required at the Calendar or by calling (920) 322-3929.

Crafternoon takes place every third Saturday of the month with a different make-and-take project. It was inspired by a similar program at the New York Public Library that’s run by Maura Madden, who wrote, “Crafternoon: A Guide to Getting Artsy and Crafty with Your Friends All Year Long.”

Other projects coming up (all Crafternoon registrations open at 9 a.m. 14 days in advance of the classes):

• November 15: Rolled-Paper Picture Frame

• December 6: Dixie Cup Garland (crafters need to bring a 50-light string of twinkle lights)
