Hanging planter craft sign-up starts Jan 2

Succulent plants seem to be everywhere these days, from party favors to home décor. Crafters at the Fond du Lac Public Library’s January 16 Crafternoon class will use air-dry clay and twine to make a hanging planter for a mini succulent. All supplies provided, including plant.

Crafternoon programs are free and open to adults and teens in middle school or older. Note: crafters should note that this is a messy project and dress accordingly.

Space is strictly limited. Registration is required and starts at 9 a.m. Saturday, January 2, online at the Calendar, or by calling the Help Desk at (920) 322-3929.

Crafternoon was inspired by a similar program at the New York Public Library that’s run by Maura Madden, who wrote, Crafternoon: A Guide to Getting Artsy and Crafty with Your Friends All Year Long.

The Crafternoon schedule through June 2016 (registration for each class begins at 9 am two weeks before):

  • Feb 20: Sunshine Dandelion Acrylic Painting
  • Mar 19: Sock Bunny
  • Apr 16: Papel Picado (Mexican fiesta garland)
  • May 21: Soda Bottle Bird Feeder
  • June 18: Patriotic Door Rosette
