2 contests for teens: glam & photo

Creative teens are challenged in two contests returning to the Fond du Lac Public Library in 2016:

Upcycled Glam challenges teens to create a special-occasion outfit that uses a combination of upcycled paper and upcycled clothing. The winner will receive a $250 Amazon gift card. It’s open anyone in middle or high school who attends school in Fond du Lac County. Entries are due April 1, 2016. The creations will be judged by a VIP panel on the basis of overall design (40 percent); use of upcycled materials (25 percent); cost, the lower the better (20 percent); and creativity (15 percent). Entries will be displayed in the library’s Langdon Divers Gallery in May. The first, second and third place winners will be featured in press releases, social media and the library’s website. Read the complete rules HERE. Online entry form HERE. To receive a paper copy of the rules, contact Terri Fleming at [email protected] or (920) 322-3951.

Teen Photo Contest will award a grand prize of a $250 Amazon gift card for the best overall entry, and will award three honorable mention prizes for the best photos entered in three categories: Digitally Altered, Architecture and Anything Goes. The contest is open to teens who attend school in Fond du Lac County in grades six through 12. Deadline to enter is April 1, 2016, after which the library will gather a VIP panel to judge entries and award prizes. Entries will be displayed in the library’s Langdon Divers Gallery in May, sharing that space with entries and winners of the Upcycled Glam Contest, another library teen challenge. Full details on the contest rules and guidelines are available HERE or by calling (920) 322-3941.
