Block printing, video editing at Idea Studio in Oct

The Fond du Lac Public Library’s Idea Studio makerspace is offering two special programs in October that are open to adults and teens age 13 and older. Space is limited, and online registration is required for each at, click Calendar.

  • Linoleum Block Printing with Carvey, 1 p.m. Saturday, October 14: Learn how to program the CNC Carvey to cut linoleum blocks for printing. Attendees will be trained on the Carvey, watch a demonstration of block carving and make a print from a premade block. They can return at another time to use the Carvey to make their own blocks. All materials for the October 14 will be supplied, but users must provide or purchase materials for subsequent uses.
  • Video Editing with Adobe Clip, 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 24: Bring your own phone or tablet to learn simple video editing with Adobe Clip, a free mobile app for iOS and Android devices. Adobe Clip allows users to make videos from photos on their device, add a soundtrack and upload to social media.

The Idea Studio makerspace is permanent do-it-yourself zone in the library’s lower level with equipment to use for free and DIY programming. Hours: 3-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 3-6 p.m. Fridays; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.
