Connect with Facebook Oct 12

The Fond du Lac Public Library, with a little help from its friends, is offering Try Something New, a series of classes at 1 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month in the library’s Idea Studio in the lower level. All are free; no registration required.

October 12: Staying Connected with Facebook. Facebook is an excellent way to keep in touch with far-flung and busy family members. Andi Rogers and Zach Gneiser, Agnesian HealthCare Information Services business analysts, will teach the basics of Facebook and answer questions. Bring your own laptop or tablet to log onto the library’s free Wi-Fi. A limited number of laptops will be available to use at the session, first-come, first-served.

November 9: Something New in the Kitchen. In a recipe rut? Interested in discovering new flavors for your fall menu? Join dietitian Mary Houser of ManorCare Health Services to learn tips to overcome your cooking slump. With tastebud-engergizing samples.

December 14: Painted Tote: Instructor Lindsey Thompson from Generations Home Care and Hospice will walk painters through the steps, using fabric paint on canvas, to decorate a tote bag with a lovely seasonal scene. All supplies provided. Free. No registration.
