Exploring Teacher Resources

Cindy Barden Teachers' Resource Center

The Cindy Barden Teachers' Resource Center opened last May in the Children's Room. The center was made possible through an endowment set up by her family through the Fond du Lac Area Foundation to remember Barden, who passed away in 2014.

Last-minute gift ideas

Searching for last-minute gifts? The Children's staff at the library have some easy suggestions to help! All of these items are also owned by the library, so come in and scope them out first if you like. You could even save yourself a few bucks and simply check it out to share with your family throughout the year.

For our younger friends

Teddy Bear Sleepover 2016

If you missed our Teddy Bear Sleepover, don't worry. We hope you'll join us next year. In the meantime, check out these great pictures and see what kind of mischief our stuffed friends got into.

A huge thanks to our friends, the Key Club! This group from the high school did a great job this year and we were so pleased to partner with them.

Early literacy program benefits from Holiday Wine Tasting

It’s a good guess that the hundreds who attended the annual Cujak’s Wine Market Holiday Wine Tasting at Fox Valley Savings Bank in November didn’t know their evening out was benefitting such a good cause. On Monday, Sara Cujak and Jim Ziebarth, vice president for FVSB Financial Services, presented a check for $3,500 to the Fond du Lac Public Library’s 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program.

Money Smart Week 2014

The Fond du Lac Public Library has been leading the charge for Money Smart Week since 2007. Money Smart Week Wisconsin is an initiative of the Governor's Council on Financial Literacy, in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.

Free custard for kids

Kids love to color and they love frozen custard, so this is a win-win. Kids ages 11 and younger can pick up a special coloring sheet at the Fond du Lac Public Library Children’s Desk throughout April. All they have to do is draw a picture about their favorite book, turn the picture in to the library and they get a coupon for a free scoop of custard. The coupon is redeemable at any neighborhood Culvers.

Summer Reading? Done. Now for some fall fun.

Hi everyone!

Boy, you really dug into reading this summer. This has been one of the busiest summers ever at the Fond du Lac Public Library. With magicians, wild animals and tons of reading – more than 2 million minutes were logged by kids, teens and adults - we hope you had as much fun as we did.

As summer winds down and school gets started, we’re heading into a great fall season.

We're diggin' into summer!

If you haven't stopped in the Children's Room yet, add it to your to-do list for this week! We have packed the week full of interactive fun.
