DIY nail decals June 13 & 15

Wish your nails had more personality? Give them pizzazz at one of the Fond du Lac Public Library’s DIY Nail Decals classes, offered twice, at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, and Thursday, June 15. The classes are identical.

Idea Studio expands hours for summer

Three big summer announcements from the Idea Studio:

Make Patriotic Light Strings at Jun 17 Crafternoons

Crafters at the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Saturday, June 17, Crafternoon programs will use strips of red, white and blue fabric to make Patriotic Light Strings, decorations perfect for any Fourth of July celebration. The program will be offered twice, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. There is a $2 per person fee for supplies, and crafters are asked to bring fabric shears from home.

Dreifuerst chosen for Idea Studio summer residency

“Yoo hoo!” So said Kathryn Dreifuerst when she learned that her application was chosen for the paid summer residency program, a first, at the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Idea Studio. Dreifuerst’s application was selected for the two-month program during which she’ll work on original art in the studio and conduct several classes for the public.

June sales at Chapter 52

Summer vacation season is nearly upon us and Summer Reading @ the Library starts June 1, so Chapter 52 Bookstore is celebrating with big sales on used books, movies and more for the cabin, car, plane and back yard.

Pizza & Pages meets May 17

The Fond du Lac Public Library’s teen book club, Pizza & Pages, will gather at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, to talk about Well, That Was Awkward, by Rachel Vail.

Mom’s the word at Chapter 52

No excuses: Chapter 52 Bookstore is offering a buy one, get one free sale the day before Mother’s Day on Saturday, May 13 (Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 14). Grab all kinds of mom-pleasing goodies in the bookstore’s extensive fiction and nonfiction collections.

3-D design with TinkerCAD May 18

The Fond du Lac Public Library’s Idea Studio has two 3-D printers. To help trained users get more fun out of the machines, the library is offering a program teaching 3-D design on TinkerCAD at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 18. TinkerCAD, is a free web-based 3-D computer-aided design application designed for beginners.

No prerequisites are required, but users must have received training on the Idea Studio’s 3-D printers to print their designs. The classes are free and open to adults and teens aged 13 and older; no walk-ins or younger children allowed.

Ukulele Club meets May 6

Uke instructor and aficionado Stan Kocos will lead the Fond du Lac Ukulele Club at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Fond du Lac Public Library.
