Big changes at FDL Library: New carpet, collection on the move

Big changes are coming to the Fond du Lac Public Library downtown this year. They start in early February, when new carpet will be installed on the main and second floors.

It's Cosplay time for teens in Feb

Back by popular demand, a Cosplay Party for teens in grades 6-12 will be held 1-3 p.m. Saturday, February 24, at the at the Fond du Lac Public Library. Teens should come decked in fandom-inspired (library appropriate) costumes for chances to win prizes in the costume contest and superhero trivia contest. Snacks and door prizes provided.

Flavors of the World explores cinnamon Feb 20

Take your taste buds on a world tour with the Fond du Lac Public Library’s new monthly kitchen demonstration series, Flavors of the World. Every third Tuesday of the month, local and regional foodies and experts will focus on a spice, flavor or herb (or two), tell their stories and demonstrate and share recipes in the Idea Studio.

Uke Club meets Jan 6

The informal, drop-in Fond du Lac Ukulele Club will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 6, at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The club is a fun get-together for uke players of all ages and skill levels to learn songs, practice and share. The program is free; no registration required. Players are encouraged to bring their own instruments.

Yarn Crafters meet Jan 11, 25

The drop-in Yarn Crafters group will meet at 6 p.m. Thursdays January 11 and January 25 at the Fond du Lac Public Library.

Who's Col. Mustard? Teens find out Jan 30

Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to play Life-size Clue at 4 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The teens will serve as the famously named games pieces, such as Professor Plum, Col. Mustard and Miss Scarlet, and solve the murder mystery in a fun, life-size game. Snacks provided. The program is free; no registration required.

Makeathon! at Idea Studio Jan 6

The Idea Studio at the Fond du Lac Public Library will kick off the New Year with Makeathon! From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, January 6, makers, hackers, doers, shakers of all disciplines age 13 and older are invited to gather and create. Makeathon! is free; no registration required. Children under age 13 are welcome if accompanied by an adult. Light refreshments will be provided.
