Adults and high school students interested in going to college are invited to a Continuing Education Fair 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 7, the Fond du Lac Public Library.
Sponsored by the Northeast Wisconsin Consortium for Adult Education, the fair will feature one-stop information on higher education opportunities in the area. Schools represented will include Marian University, xxx, xxx and many more.
The program is free. No registration required; just drop in.
The Friends of the Fond du Lac Public Library will hold their annual meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, by hosting a discussion with Keith Hellwig, local author of No Place Like Home. Refreshments will be served. No registration required.
Watch ‘em fly! Tweens ages 9 to 13 are invited to the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Tween Scene program at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 28, to make rubber band-powered cars using upcycled household items and ingenuity. All supplies provided. The program is free. No registration required.
Guests will never know that your pretty centerpiece started out as a lowly tissue box. Crafters at the May Crafternoon class at the Fond du Lac Public Library will create a vase or planter using upcycled boxes, book pages, glue and simple household items. The program from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 16, is free and open to adults and teens in middle school or older.

The program on the history of the Fond du Lac Children’s Home, originally presented on March 19, will be repeated at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, at the Fond du Lac Public Library. Presenter Sally Powers-Albertz agreed to a reprise to satisfy the dozens turned away from the standing-room-only turnout.
