Visit holiday wonderland Dec 9

The Fond du Lac Public Library will be transformed into a holiday wonderland, with rooms of fun and creative activities for families and a visit from a Christmas VIP, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 9. The event is free; no registration required.

2 authors coming to Chapter 52 Dec 5

Have a book lover on your holiday gift list? Chapter 52 Bookstore will host two area authors who will be selling and signing copies of their books from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, December 5.

Half Day Party Dec 4

Kids ages 6 to 12 who attend school in Fond du Lac School District get a bonus: early release on the first Fridays of the month. The Fond du Lac Public Library is offering Half Day Parties from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. featuring a kid-friendly movie, snacks and games of bingo in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. The program, in the McLane Meeting Room in the Main Library’s lower level, is free. No registration required. The December 4 party will show Disney’s The Descendants.

Paper Christmas Tree signup starts Nov 21

 

Take one upcycled paperback book, employ a few folds, a bit of glitter and voila! A pretty Christmas tree for the tabletop or mantle. Crafters will make a Paperback Christmas Tree at the 1 p.m. December 5 Crafternoon class at the Fond du Lac Public Library.

Gingerbread programs for kids, teens

Kids 12 and younger are invited to the Gingerbread Decoration Party on Saturday, December 19. Registration for one of two sessions – 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. – is required starting December 7 online at the Calendar, or by calling the Children’s Desk at (920) 322-3940. Space is limited.

Scary stories for whole family Oct 29

The whole family is invited to enjoy Frights at Home and Far Away – scary folktales from around the world – at 6 p.m. Thursday, October 29, at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The program is free; no registration required. Refreshments will be served.

FDL Artists Association show Nov 4-Dec 2

Fond du Lac Artists Association will showcase the diverse talents of its members November 4 through December 2 at the Fond du Lac Public Library Langdon Divers Gallery. The exhibit will showcase Artist of the Year Roxine McQuitty.

'Where Does the Money Go?' Nov 17

Get a handle on holiday spending and beyond at Where Does the Money Go?, at 6 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The program is free; no registration required.

Family Living Educator Michelle Tidemann will discuss ways to take control of your money and better manage the money you have. She’ll provide money management materials to take charge of finances.
