Letters to Santa due Dec 7

When it comes to Christmas wishes, kids know it’s smart to put them in writing. Kids who drop off their letters to Santa at the Children’s Room at the downtown Fond du Lac Public Library by 3 p.m. Monday, December 7, will get a personalized reply by Santa mailed to their homes before Christmas.

Visit holiday wonderland Dec 9

The Fond du Lac Public Library will be transformed into a holiday wonderland, with rooms of fun and creative activities for families and a visit from a Christmas VIP, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 9. The event is free; no registration required.

Scary stories for whole family Oct 29

The whole family is invited to enjoy Frights at Home and Far Away – scary folktales from around the world – at 6 p.m. Thursday, October 29, at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The program is free; no registration required. Refreshments will be served.

Stories on Ice return in Nov

Kids ages 3 to 5 and their adult friends are invited to Stories on Ice – a program of stories and skating – at 10 a.m. and repeated at 5 p.m. Thursdays November 5, 12 and 19 at Blue Line Family Ice Center, 550 Fond du Lac Ave. The program is free, no registration required.

Half-Day Party Nov 6

Kids ages 6 to 12 who attend school in Fond du Lac School District get a bonus: early release on the first Fridays of the month. The Fond du Lac Public Library is offering Half Day Parties from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. featuring a kid-friendly movie, snacks and games of bingo in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. The program, in the McLane Meeting Room in the Main Library’s lower level, is free. No registration required.

Día de los muertos party at library Oct. 24

The whole family is invited to a Día de los muertos celebration 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, October 24, at the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Children’s Room.

Translated as day of the dead, Día de los muertos is celebrated throughout Mexico and acknowledged around the world in other cultures. It focuses on remembering family members and friends who have died.

Summer 2015 one for the record books
