Uncle Fred doing the Macarena? Cousin Stella dressed as an elf? A Christmas hearth decorated just right? Everyone has favorite holiday photos that bring back great memories. Now you can share them in the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Up On the Rooftop, Click, Click, Click photo display.
Fond du Lac Visual Arts Winter Show will showcase the diverse talents of the membership group through December at the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Langdon Divers Gallery. The public is invited to attend an artists’ reception 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, December 20, held in conjunction with the Tour the Town downtown art walk. Refreshments will be served.
Shopping for readers this holiday season? The BookCellar at the Fond du Lac Public Library – the city’s only used book store – sells used books, movies, music and magazines for all ages at deep discounts. Most hardcover books are $1, paperbacks and kids’ books are 50 cents.
In December, two special sales offer even-better deals:
First in the new Nantucket Brides Trilogy, True Love by Jude Deveraux combines a little mystery, a ghost, a big family, with some reincarnation mixed in to make this a perfect choice for all you hopeless romantics out there. The Taggerts and Montgomerys from the author's Velvet series are together again in this magical tale set on the island of Nantucket.
Forget the stockings: The Fond du Lac Public Library’s new backpack-style book bags will hold a lot more of Santa’s loot, and they’re just $2. The backpacks are sold at the Main Library downtown and at FDLPL Express, near Festival Foods. The library’s popular red totes also are available for sale at both locations for $2.
