‘Prelude to War’ July 21 explores US-Mexico strife

Why did the United States’ relationship with Mexico influence our country’s participation in The Great War? Local historian Wayne King will delve into the complex forces at work and their ramifications in Fond du Lac in his program, Prelude to War presented at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at the Fond du Lac Public Library.

As the season turns, nighttime comes sooner. October looms, with ghouls around every corner. This is the inspiration for the 11th annual Fond du Lac Reads choice of Dracula, by Bram Stoker.

Veteran travelers Valerie and Wayne Graczyk will share their photos, stories and travel tips at The Best of Greece & Mediterranean Isles travelogue program at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The program is free, and no registration is required.

Greece is at the top of the Graczyks’ list of favorite travel destinations.
