Will robots rule the world? Maybe so, but before that happens, they can be a lot of fun. High school kids interested in robots and coding are invited to Fondy Fire Robotics Experience from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, October 29, in the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Idea Studio.
In 2002, Jason Padgett was just an average guy. Not the best student; he had graduated from high school a few years back, just. He got by selling futons and spending his off time pumping iron and partying. But a brutal attack changed all that. Muggers jumped him outside a bar and left him on the sidewalk, a victim of severe head trauma.
Karl L. Stewart, author of two Legend of See Bird Westerns and The Seventh Cruise, a World War II novel, will sell and sign copies of his books 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, October 1, at Chapter 52 Bookstore.
Kids ages 6 to 12 who attend school in Fond du Lac School District get a bonus: early release on the first Fridays of the month starting in October. Parents perhaps aren’t as thrilled. The Fond du Lac Public Library has stepped in with a free program, Half Day Parties, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. every first Friday of the month starting October 7.
Outdoor writer and wildlife biologist Bob Willging will answer that question in his History at Home programs at 2 p.m. and repeated at 6 p.m. Thursday, October 20, at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The program is free; no registration required.
