Book of the MonthCover of book Fight for your Money Fight for your Money: How to Stop Getting Ripped Off and Save a Fortune
David Bach

The author supplies a wealth of information on numerous topics such as TV and Phone, Health, Retirement, Credit cards, Tax Preparation, etc. that take our money. He gives tips on how to save money in many areas of your life and suggest websites and places to go for more information. For example, under TV and phone he explains what to consider when choosing between cable and satellite TV, how to choose among the various cell phone plans and whether dumping your landline is a good thing. Also important to the reader, there are sections in each chapter on what to do if things go wrong. This is not a get rich quick book, but it is a practical book on how to live your life in a financially sound way..

Website of the MonthMoney growing
Yahoo! Finance finance.yahoo.com/

Yahoo! Finance is one of several financial sites offering stock quotes, up-to-date news on the economy, portfolio management resources, international market data, message boards, and mortgage rates. One of the major sections is on Personal Finance. It gives easy-to-understand information on banking and budgeting, insurance, loans, retirement and taxes. There are also calculators, a glossary, and how-to-guides. Currently the site is offering calculators on figuring out how much college costs, how much you are currently spending, and how much you need to save for retirement. There is an interesting article on consumer spending entitled “What’s in, What’s out” explaining current spending trends. For example, cell phones are still definitely in but cable TV is becoming less essential to many persons..
