Information Services

We assist high-school through adult-aged patrons in finding information on a range of topics, from computer use at the library, genealogy, and online searching to school and business projects. We also teach classes in beginning computer usage, e-books, and genealogical research. We're available in person, over the phone, via email or instant messaging, and through traditional mail.

Daryl Rogers, Information Services Coordinator at the Fond du Lac Public Library, was born and raised in Dunlap, Indiana. He received his undergraduate degree in Public Policy from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and a Master degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. He has held positions of Reference Librarian, Department Head, and Interim Director. He lives in North Fond du Lac with his wife and son.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood and Kindergarten Education and a Masters Degree in Library Science, both from UW-Madison, which is my hometown.  Before moving to Fond du Lac I taught preschool for 10 years. I have been a librarian since 1994.  I spent 14 years as a Children's and Teen Librarian, and am now a Reference and Teen Librarian.  I have three boys and a rambunctious dog named Cocoa. Annette is a librarian in the Information Services Department and the coordinator of the Opportunity Center. She grew up in the Fond du Lac area and has an education and library degree from UWO and UWM respectively. She has been working at the library for more than ten years. She has spent time in Information Services, Bookmobile, Children's and is now back in Information Services.

Jeanna Donovan is the literacy specialist for Fond du Lac Literacy Services. She is excited to have a position that will give others an opportunity to improve their reading and writing skills. Jeanna was a teacher for seven years, including two in Missouri. She is resettled in Fond du Lac. She and husband, Mark, have two children and two dogs.

I grew up in Fond du Lac and have always enjoyed coming to the public library. Now I am one of the reference librarians.  I am currently a member of the Fond du Lac Historical Society, the Wisconsin State Genealogical Society and several area genealogy societies. I enjoy traveling and attending genealogy workshops to learn more about  researching my own family history.

Joanne Mengel is a library assistant in the Information Services department at the Fond du Lac Public Library, with over 30 years of library experience. She currently coordinates the library's Homebound Program, and creates and processes interlibrary loan requests. Most days you will find her at the Help Desk on the first floor providing reader's advisory. She is an avid reader of just about any genre, but has a soft spot for romance and chick-lit. Look for her blog posts on the Reader's portion of our website, where she will be posting reviews of everything romance; from "bodice-rippers" to "warm and fuzzies". Meagan Parker

Meagan Parker is a reference librarian at the Fond du Lac Public Library. She always has loved to read and learn, so she is excited to be in a job where she gets to talk to so many people about reading and information. Meagan has her BA in English from DePaul University and her Masters in Library Studies from UW-Madison. Meagan’s reading tastes range from history and literary fiction to mysteries, science writing and historical fiction. Meagan can usually be found at the Reference Desk on the second floor. Susan works at the Help Desk on first floor and the Reference Desk on second floor—but only at one desk at a time! She enjoys reading books that have a Wisconsin connection, feature dogs, are humorous, intriguing, historical, or are literary “book club type” books. Debbie is a library assistant in the Information Services Department and can usually be found at the reference desk on the second floor, but also works the help desk as needed.  She has a degree in Elementary Education from UW-Madison and more than 20 years of experience working in both Interlibrary Loan and Reference at the library.
