Seefeld Local History Room

 

The Robert & Bernice Seefeld Local History Room is located on the second floor of the Fond du Lac Public Library. This collection of more than 2,600 items is composed of materials related to the history of the City of Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County and nearby areas.

The collection includes:

  • Fond du Lac City Directories dating back to 1857
  • Telephone books dating back to 1923
  • School yearbooks from 1909
  • Fond du Lac historical pamphlets
  • State and local government documents

The Seefeld collection also contains materials for use by genealogists. These materials include:

  • Local family history books
  • Cemetery guides
  • Fond du Lac County plat books from 1862
  • Genealogical societies newsletters

There are four digital microfilm readers available. These readers are capable of sending images to printers as well as saving to personal USB drives. The microfilm holdings include:

  • Fond du Lac newspapers from 1846 to present
  • Brandon Times from 1867 to 1926
  • Lomira Review from 1904 to 1942
  • City Directories from 1884
  • Federal and Wisconsin Census records for Fond du Lac County from 1836 to 1940
