The Dangerous Book for Boys and
The Daring Book for Girls. Both books are collections of fun things to do and interesting facts from science, history, and nature. Topics include tying knots, making a go-cart, famous battles, famous queens, and how to paddle a canoe. These books are for the young and the young at heart. Everyone can find something new to learn or become nostalgic about. The Library has the original Dangerous and Daring and 4 "pocket" versions that repeat much of the same information as the originals but are in a handy size. Book Clubs
Contact the Fond du Lac Public Library for help in forming a book club. The library currently hosts two adult book discussion groups on a monthly basis. Ladies of the Evening Book Group meets the first Tuesday of each month from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and the Afternoon Delight Book Group meets the second Wednesday of each month from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Both groups meet in the Seefeld Conference Room on the second floor of the library.
Participants in the groups select by consensus the titles they want to read each month. The library provides copies of the selected titles a month in advance. The library also provides coffee and tea. Snacks are provided by the group members on a rotating basis.
Some of the titles that have been featured in the book groups are Memoirs of a Geisha, Pride and Prejudice, 1,000 White Women, The Kite Runner, and The Story of Helen Keller. Both groups welcome new members at any time.

Books Between Bites Presentations from local people on books that they have enjoyed. Held the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Salem Church.
DearReader Online Book Club Each day you will receive by e-mail a portion of a book to read. You can then decide if you want to check the book out from the library. You can sign up for specific categories such as mysteries, romance, or nonfiction.
