Lego club madness

Today's Lego Club was a success. There were 24 creative kids in attendance. The topic of discussion for the day's build was "walls" and how to build them using staggering and overlapping techniques. We also discussed the Great Wall of China. Photos from today's build are available on our Facebook page @ FDLPL Kids. Or check out the display case near the entrance to see some of the structure on display.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Book by book, step by step, help your child get ready for school and start a lifelong love of reading and learning

How the program works

Paws to Read helps young readers

Kids ages 6 to 12 who could benefit from practicing their reading are invited to participate in the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Paws to Read program. Kids read aloud to certified therapy dogs in a relaxed setting. Studies have shown that reading aloud to dogs helps put the child at ease. Kids benefit from the dogs’ patience, acceptance and comforting presence while they practice reading and build skills. The therapy dogs will be accompanied by their certified handlers and are from the group Healing Paws, Inc.

Raising readers

Here at the Fond du Lac Public Library kids’ site you can learn, read, listen and play 24/7. Come after you’ve done the dishes, let the dog out and tucked the kids into bed. This is a space where you can connect with people just like you who are trying to raise kids who will love to read and learn.
