Grab a friend who’s into sports. Another history buff. And maybe a science nerd. Voila: you have the perfect Team Trivia roster. Or not. You’d probably do just as well by corralling a few friends for the 16th annual Team Trivia. The quizmasters are notorious for their off-the-wall questions, stumping college professors and algebra drop-outs alike.

'Big History of Futures Past' begins Feb 3

What did ancient people know about space travel? About technology? About superhighways? Some say cave drawings and other artifacts left behind tell a story of deep understanding, and perhaps direct contact.

'Pieces, Paint and Passions' in gallery in Jan

Pieces, Paint and Passions, an exhibit in mixed media by Fond du Lac artist Bonnie Ann Gleason-Federman, will be on display at the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Langdon Divers Gallery from January 6 through February 3.

The public is invited to a reception 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 14, at the gallery. Refreshments will be served.

Take a Book, Leave a Book opens Jan 4

Journeys: a health resource center and the Fond du Lac Public Library are excited to join a nationwide movement to make books accessible to everyone through a new Take a Book, Leave a Book exchange starting Jan 4, 2016.

'I Got Rhythm' Jan 23

Kids ages 2 to 6 and their parents are invited to I Got Rhythm, at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 23, at the Fond du Lac Public Library. Kids will explore songs, dancing and fun musical instruments, as well as books and stories. The program is free. No registration required.

Teen Chopped Challenge Jan 23

It will be a battle of wits, wills and culinary skills: the Teen Chopped Challenge at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 23, at the Fond du Lac Public Library.

Welcome the New Year in grand style by knocking off two resolutions in one visit to Chapter 52 Bookstore: get healthier and save money. All health and wellness books are half off at the bookstore January 9, 11 and 13.

Mega-Zine Sale Jan 2-4-6

The Fond du Lac Public Library will hold its annual Mega-Zine Sale January 2, 4 and 6 at Chapter 52 Bookstore. Bundles of magazines from 2013 will be sold for 50 cents each and will include such popular titles as Vanity Fair, Shape, Outdoor Life, Country Living, Sports Illustrated, Reader’s Digest and Wisconsin Sportsman.
