Bag-on-Fire Sale at BookCellar July 11

To get ready for its big move, the Fond du Lac Public Library’s BookCellar is holding a one day Bags-on-Fire Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 11.

Customers will receive a grocery bag and can fill it up with all the hardcover and paperback books, magazines, movies and more and pay just $5 for the lot.

Following In Their Footsteps: Local WWI Soldiers in Europe, will be presented at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 16, as part of the Fond du Lac Public Library's monthly History at Home program.

FDL Visual Arts Annual July Show July 1-Aug 4

Fond du Lac Visual Arts presents their Annual July Show at the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Langdon Divers Gallery July 1-August 4. The public is invited to an artists’ reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 9.

Drugs, alcohol and domestic violence July 20

Agnesian HealthCare’s monthly domestic violence awareness program, Shine On Sessions, will examine “Drugs, Alcohol and Domestic Violence” at 6 p.m. Monday, July 20, at Fond du Lac Public Library. The program is free; no registration required.

The session, facilitated by Amy Rodriguez, Agnesian HealthCare's Domestic Violence Program prevention educator, will take a closer look at how drugs and alcohol are used in violent relationships.

Summer 2015 programs for teens

Teens in grades 6 through 12 don’t have to retire to their Fortress of Solitude (i.e., bedrooms) to kick back and have fun this summer. Behold! The Power of Reading offers free activities all summer long.

Kids ride free! Buses to Books returns

Fond du Lac Transit’s Buses to Books program allows kids ages 6 to 17 to ride the bus to the downtown Main Library and back for free on Thursdays June 18 to August 20, using their library cards as bus passes. Kids ages 6 to 9 must be accompanied by an adult, and adults pay full fare. Bus routes and other transit information are available on the Transit Dept. page at
