Discover picture book adventures as you walk through Hamilton and Lakeside Park by visiting the latest StoryWalks. StoryWalks encourage families to enjoy reading and the outdoors by posting a children’s book – a page at a time – at intervals along a path.

During the warm season, our StoryWalks get a new story each month. What's happening in May?

At Lakeside Park, start at the Deneveu Shelter to read two different books! In "Not That Pet!" by Smirti Prasadam-Halls, can Mabel find the perfect pet for her family? Some are too scary, some are too smelly, and some are too wiggly or giggly.

Then, in "What if You Had Animal Teeth?" by Sandra Markle, think about what it would mean if an animal's teeth grew into the space where you lost your two front teeth? Describes the characteristics of different animals' teeth, including beavers, camels, Bengal tigers, and narwhals..

Over at Hamilton Park, in "The Elephants' Guide to Hide and Seek" by Kjersten Hayes, The Elephant Hobby and Sport League provides tips for elephants who love their human friends but are tired and frustrated by their own inability to hide and not be found.
