Get a library card

Library cards are available at the downtown library's Main Desk and at FDLPL Express. You must go in person and bring proof of address (like a driver’s license or state ID with your current address). If your driver's license or state ID does not list your current address, you must bring another document, such as a lease, utility bill or credit card statement, that shows your current address. Minors under age 16 require a parent's signature. The process just takes a few minutes. We do not issue cards over the phone or by email.
You do not have to be a Fond du Lac resident to get a FDLPL card. We will issue a card to anyone with proof of address. If you live out of state, you will receive a limited card (maximum 3 checkouts).
FDLPL may issue internet-only cards for people without proof of address, which can be used to access online resources and the library's internet computers, but cannot be used to check out materials.
