Winters in Fond du Lac can be tough, but to a group of regional artists, winter has been inspiring.

The group show, “Electric Underpants and Other Winter Tips,” will be featured in the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Langdon Divers Gallery December 5 to December 31.

The exhibit will feature the works of four area artists:

  • “Cartuna” Steve Wirtz: laminated paper and wire pieces
  • Lisa Consaul McKay: polymer clay and mixed media
  • Alice Tzakais: mixed media
  • Nicci Martin: “acrylic painted mayhem”

Wirtz, of upper Michigan, creates laminated paper sculptures that have attracted collectors from around the world. His most recent show was “Absurd Dynamism” at Michigan Artists Gallery in Traverse City, Mich.

McKay is a Canadian artist with a flair for polymer clay sculpture. When not working on commissioned pieces, she likes to create clever and humorous scenes.

Tazakais, who recently retired from teaching art at Friendship Learning Center in North Fond du Lac, is talented in many different mediums.

Martin’s whimsical acrylic masterpieces – with a particular knack for color – are well-known in the region and have been seen in many shows in the Fond du Lac area.
