Mixed-media and fiber artist Stephanie Leisering, of Fond du Lac, has been named the Fond du Lac Public Library Idea Studio’s virtual artist in residence for July.

Leisering’s paid residency will take place on a Facebook group through which people can interact, see her work, attend workshops and learn about other makers and artists. Sign-up for the group is through facebook.com/ideastudioFDLPL.

Leisering grew up in a creative and artistic family. She graduated from Renaissance School for the Arts in Appleton, a specialized high school. She studied sculpture and painting at UW-Fox Valley and received her bachelor’s degree from the Peck School of the Arts at UW-Milwaukee. After a hiatus to raise her son and focus on family, Leisering got back into making art, selling works at outdoor art events and craft shows. She has some of her small art for sale in Artiphix machines in the Fox Valley area.  She is a member of the North East Wisconsin Modern Quilt Guild and a member of the Fond du Lac Artists Association.

The Idea Studio’s summer residency program is in its fourth year. More information about the program can be found at fdlpl.org/residency.
