Teens will have a new place to hang out virtually and participate in programs at the Fond du Lac Public Library starting in January.

FDLPL will be introducing Discord for youth ages 13 to 18. It is a popular online platform on which different communities can gather to hang out, share their interests and meet one another. This is an invite-only space that has become popular at libraries nationwide. It will be moderated by the teen services department at FDLPL and registration for the platform will begin Monday, Jan. 4 at fdlpl.org.

Through the library’s Discord account, teens will be able to participate in programs and events both together at once (synchronous) and on-demand (asynchronous). This may include trivia nights, clubs, gaming or just a place to meet and exchange ideas with peers.

For questions regarding Discord, send a message to FDLPL’s teen email account at teens@fdlpl.org.

Fond du Lac Public Library operates two locations: the Main Library at 32 Sheboygan St. in downtown Fond du Lac, and FDLPL Express at 1132 E. Johnson St. near Festival Foods. At this time, the main library is open for curbside service only on weekdays, and in-person on weekends. Computer use is available by appointment.
