Combining the love of reading and cooking, the Fond du Lac Public Library is starting a monthly reading club – What’s Cooking – to dig into just a handful of the thousands of great cookbooks, starting with “How to Instant Pot,” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28.

Every fourth Tuesday of the month, the program will focus on one cookbook to discuss and the presenter will demonstrate a recipe or two from the book. With samples. The program is free. For adults and teens 13 and older. Registration is required and begins at 9:30 am two weeks before each program.

Copies of the cookbooks under discussion will be available to borrow from the library. The schedule:

  • Jan 28: “How to Instant Pot” by Daniel Shumski (recipe: Ricotta spread). Registration starts Jan. 14.
  • Feb 25: “Love Real Food” by Kathryne Taylor (recipe: Fresh Greek Nachos with Herbed Tahini Sauce). Registration starts Feb. 11.
  • Mar 24: “Lucky Peach Presents Power Vegetables” by Peter Meehan (recipes: Ritu’s Grated Carrot Salad and Roasted Cabbage with Banana Blossom Dressing). Registration starts March 10.
