Money Smart Week activities for kids

March 30 10 am: Paint Your Own Bank (registration required) For preschool-and-older kiddos and their families. Kick off Money Smart Week with a fun session on coins and counting, followed by painting your own banks. Registration required and begins March 18.

March 30 1 pm Kids Read First 50 families in attendance receive a free copy of the book Count on Pablo. We'll do a fun activity and taste-test some delicious salsa from local restaurants. Perfect for the whole family. No registration. Read a letter from author Barbara deRubertis

April 6 9:45 am: Bank Behind the Scenes (registration requiredBehind the scenes at a bank. For kids ages 4-10 and families. Meet at the library at 9:45 am and walk to Fox Valley Savings Bank for a behind-the-scenes tour. Registration required and begins March 25.

What is Money Smart Week?
The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago started Money Smart Week in 2002 as a financial literacy initiative the greater Chicago area.  The program has grown into a national campaign involving thousands of libraries, financial institutions, educators and others to educate the public on how to better manage their personal finances.  The Fond du Lac Public Library has been participating in Money Smart Week since 2007.
