January is a great time for comfort food and to test some recipes from our cookbooks. On cold, dark nights it can be so appealing to pull out a fragrant, warming dish. Two new popular cookbooks from the many we purchased last year that I’m looking forward to viewing are:
Modern Comfort Food: a Barefoot Contessa Cookbook by Ina Garten. It promises the recipes are easy to follow and taste great!
See You On Sunday: a cookbook for family and friends by Sam Sifton. Sifton feels that regular meals with family and friends are a great way to connect and to that end he includes 200 mostly simple and inexpensive recipes. There’s some time to experiment and find some new favorites for when we can all gather together again.
My kids are grown, but I wish I would have had these cookbooks when I was working full time with young children. Who am I kidding? I still want a good, easy meal in 30 minutes or less!
Quick and Delicious : 100 recipes to cook in 30 minutes or less by Gordon Ramsey
We’ve also got cookbooks for those with special needs such as gluten-free, heart healthy, or FODMAP. Our newest cookbooks are on the first floor but we’ve got shelves of additional cookbooks on the second floor in the 641 area. We’re open for browsing on weekends or if you prefer to do your browsing online, place items on hold which can be picked up curbside Monday through Friday or on weekends.
